Hollywoodbets Lucky Numbers
Lucky Numbers is a fixed-odds bet on the outcome of a draw. It is not a ticket in the lottery, and the price on the coupon is the whole contract.
Lucky Numbers on Hollywoodbets is a book of fixed-odds bets on lottery-style draws. You choose a draw, you choose an outcome the coupon offers, and you take the price shown. If the outcome happens, the bet pays at that price. If it does not, the stake loses.
That is not the same product as a ticket in the South African National Lottery or in any other lottery. A lottery ticket is an entry in that lottery’s prize pool, under that lottery’s rules. A Lucky Numbers bet is a wager with the bookmaker. Hollywoodbets sets the price. The national lottery does not pay you because you placed this bet.
What the coupon is pricing
Draws differ. Some are local, some are foreign lotteries, and the ball ranges are not all the same. Hollywoodbets has, over the years, published explainers for individual draws on its blog, with odds tables attached. Those tables go out of date. This page does not reprint them as current prices.
What you can rely on is the coupon in front of you:
- The name of the draw.
- When betting on that draw closes.
- The selection you are making, such as one number, more than one number, or a side market such as high or low.
- The price for that selection.
- The stake, and the return the slip calculates from it.
The Hollywoodbets listing on the South African App Store says the app offers over 3,000 Lucky Numbers draws a week. That is the operator’s description of the range. It is not a promise that every draw is open at the moment you look, and it is not a claim about what any of them pay.
The South African National Lottery’s main Lotto draw is a Wednesday and Saturday draw. People look for it on Lucky Numbers coupons. If you bet on it there, you are still taking Hollywoodbets’ price, and betting closes on Hollywoodbets’ clock, which can be earlier than the draw itself. Read the close time on that coupon.
How a simple number bet is judged
You are betting that one or more numbers you select are among the numbers drawn. The coupon says how many you must match. Matching more numbers is harder, so the price is longer. Matching one number from a large set is easier, so the price is shorter.
There is no skill in the draw. The useful skill is reading the contract: which numbers count, whether a bonus ball is included, and what the slip says the return is. If you cannot point at those three things, do not place the bet.
High/Low and the sign-up credit
High/Low markets split a draw into two outcomes. Hollywoodbets’ sign-up terms say the bonus cannot be wagered on both markets in the same event, and they name Lucky Numbers High/Low as the first example. Using the R25 credit to back both sides of a draw is the case that clause is written for. The terms say the bonus can be revoked.
The same credit has to be used within 24 hours of account activation, at odds of 5/10 (0.5 decimal) or greater. Many High/Low prices sit near even money. Check the odds format so you do not mistake the minimum. The rest of the conditions are on the sign-up offer page.
The terms article does not publish a separate Lucky Numbers bonus. Using the R25 here still has to clear the 24-hour clock, the 5/10 minimum and the both-sides rule.
Stake size
Draws are frequent. Frequency is how a small stake becomes a large one without a single bet looking large. Decide a session limit before you open the coupon, and stop when it is gone. The responsible gambling page has the National Responsible Gambling Programme number, 0800 006 008.
