Hollywoodbets’ sportsbook states that it is licensed by provincial gambling boards. SportsPunt is not the operator and is not licensed to take bets. Who can register

You need to be over 18. Hollywoodbets states that no person under the age of 18 is permitted to gamble. The sign-up terms repeat the age rule and add that only one account per customer is allowed.

The form asks whether you are a South African citizen. If you answer no, it asks for a passport expiry date. It also asks for sex, date of birth and country of origin, and it asks you to consent to Hollywoodbets contacting you on the details you submit. Use a mobile number you can open immediately, because the next step is an SMS.

The SMS one-time pin

After the details step, the page asks for an OTP and tells you to check your SMS. Enter the code you were sent. There is a resend control. The page also says that if you reach the maximum number of attempts you are sent back to the start of registration.

If the SMS does not arrive, check that the number was typed correctly before you keep requesting new codes. A mistyped digit is a more common problem than a delay.

What has to match later

The sign-up terms say the ID number you enter is checked with Hollywoodbets’ verification tool. If that check does not recognise the registration, Hollywoodbets can ask for documents before it processes the account. Those documents, for the FICA clause, are a valid South African identity document or a valid foreign passport.

Use the name and number that appear on that document. FICA is what stands between a winning balance and a withdrawal. The upload routes are on the FICA page. You do not have to finish FICA before you receive the sign-up credit. You do have to finish it, and have it approved, before the first withdrawal.

After the account exists

The R25 and the 50 spins are in the terms article, not in a form headline this site could re-read on 16 October 2026. The conditions are a 24-hour limit, a minimum price of 5/10 (0.5 decimal), three named Habanero games, and a R1,200 cap on the spins. They are written out on the sign-up offer page. Read them before you spend the credit, because the 24-hour clock is short.
